Packaging Mechanic
Title: Packaging Mechanic

Essential Functions of this position:
- Repair packaging Equipment as needed
- Perform regular and preventative maintenance of packaging equipment to eliminate unscheduled down time
- Performs changeovers in an efficient and timely manner
- Perform all work in accordance with GMP’s, housekeeping, good safety practices, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in team processes and maintain good costumer, supplier, and employee relationships
- Initiate purchase of required tools, parts, and maintain accountability for tools/parts issued
- Upgrade skills and knowledge as equipment and technology develops
- Perform all work to reflect a personal commitment to quality craftmanship and job ownership.
- Notify supervisor of mechanical breakdowns that will take twenty (20) minutes of more to repair
- Become familiar with PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controls) and ladder logic
- Report health/safety hazards to immediate supervisor or EHS Department and make appropriate repairs.
- Diagnose, rebuilds, modifies, and repairs packaging equipment
- Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have High School Diploma or higher.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Proven mechanical aptitude as determined by observation and a mechanical ability test.
- Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools.
- High mental and visual effort.
- Background in mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of electricity, preferably from formal training.
- Willingness to do all tasks encountered in maintaining a facility and its equipment, i.e., cleaning equipment and maintenance areas, assisting assigned individuals(s) in maintaining DMI inventory of parts and supplies.
- Flexibility. Must be willing to be reassigned to a new task prior to completing the present task at a moment’s notice.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks on a timely basis.
- Occasional overtime and Saturdays.
- Spanish is a plus

Title: Jr Project Manager
Purpose of Position:
Maintain and oversee projects and order processes to ensure that projects are completed and shipped in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain Project and Order processes, revising when needed to reflect change of responsibilities, organizational structure, Etc.
- Meet with the Department Heads on a daily or timely basis to review status of open projects or orders.
- React to or identify and analyze any anticipated or actual problems that arise i.e., possible schedule interruptions, department overloads, and people issues, and work with team to resolve.
- Work with the Sales Department to set revised and final dates, as required, after obtaining agreement of all interested parties.
- Guarantee that all additions, project adjustments, deletions, or changes are reflected in the “sales order report” for both the current and previous year.
- Ensure accuracy and timelines of all reports prepared by the team.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Manufacturing and/or packaging industry experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Working knowledge of bills of material and purchase orders
- Working knowledge of Microsoft project or other project management software

2nd shift Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Purpose of Position:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, prepare equipment for specific function, assist in installation of new equipment, and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
Essential Functions:
- Perform machine set-ups and changeovers as directed and maintain tooling storage area in an orderly fashion.
- Inspect tooling when removing it during changeovers and report any problems detected.
- Install, maintain, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain air compressors, vacuum pumps, and plant equipment.
- Constantly observe plant equipment and report any unusual operation to manager.
- Perform preventative maintenance to all manufacturing areas in plant.
- Maintain work site in a safe condition and adhere to DMI safety policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Proven mechanical aptitude as determined by observation and mechanical ability test.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical work (formal training is a plus)
- Willingness to do all tasks encountered in maintaining areas, assisting assigned individuals in maintaining DMI inventory of parts and supplies.
- Must be flexible and willing to take on new tasks as assigned depending on workload.
- Occasional overtime and Saturday work required

Director Operations
Title: Director of Operations
Supervisor: CEO, General Manager
Purpose of Position:
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Operations function of the Company, Responsible for the performance of all Department functions (Manufacturing, Production, Material Management, Order Services, Engineering and Maintenance)
Essential Functions:
- Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, customer service, and order entry efficiency, along with human utilization
- Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans
- Presents monthly reports on performance as requested by president
- Develop and present to the President matter requiring decision
- Develop and recommend corporate operations policy within the Operations Department
- Define and recommend objectives in each area of Operations. Develops specific short-term plans and programs, together with budget requests and financial estimates
- Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower facility requirements forecast.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments in establishing and carrying out responsibilities
- Review and approve the setting of budgets throughout the Operations Department
- Review and approve Operations major projects involving functional changes within the Department
- Develop plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions along with sufficient planning for areas that support the mission of DMI with Operations
- Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance as assigned activities
- Issues specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives of the operations management
- Select and maintain qualified personnel in all direct reports positions and recommends compensation levels
- Directs, monitor, and appraise the performance of the direct report positions and recommends necessary coordination between activities.
- Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates, and recommend effective personnel action
- Maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility
- Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and progress
- Coordinate activities of assigned units with those of the other company units. Seeks mutual agreement on problems involving coordination
- Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action, ensures compliance within area of responsibility. Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures
- Reviews and endorse/revise budget proposals received from direct reports. Submits budgets for assigned activities in accordance with the budget procedures. Approves budget expenses up t authorized dollar limit

- BS degree in Engineering or Business discipline
- Affiliation with successful manufacturing companies
- A minimum of 3 years as Director Operations in manufacturing company, with the responsibilities of production, purchasing, inventory control, production control and engineering, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing
- A minimum annual production value of $15 million with a minimum of 200 direct labor employees
- Sound administrative skill, well-developed management skills-principles and people
- Experience in working in nonunion environment
- Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growing.
Maintenance Mechanic
Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Department: Mechanics
Status: Full Time, All Shifts
Supervisor: Plant Engineer or designated MechanicPurpose of Position:
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to the facility and the production equipment. Prepares equipment and machinery for specific functions. Assists in the installation of new equipment. Diagnoses electrical and mechanical problems.Essential Functions:
- Perform machine changeovers when other mechanics are not available.
- Main tooling storage area in an orderly fashion.
- Inspect tooling when removing it during a changeover and report any problems detected.
- Trouble shoots production equipment and makes repairs and adjustments as required.
- Assist in line setups.
- Work in a safe manner.
- Maintain work site in a sate condition.
- Report safety problems for immediate attention.
- Observe constantly plant equipment and reports any unusual/abnormal operation to Plant Engineer.
- Share mechanical knowledge with other DMI employees.
- New project work.
- Supervise mechanics in the absence of the Plant Engineer to assure effective use of time and resources.

- Willingness to do all tasks encountered in maintaining a facility and its equipment, i.e. cleaning equipment and maintenance areas, assisting assigned individual(s) in maintaining DMI inventory of parts and supplies.
- Flexibility. Must be willing to be reassigned to a new task prior to completing the present task.

- Good English language speaking and reading skills.

Machine Operator
Title: Machine Operator
Department: Production
Status: Full Time, All Shifts
Supervisor: Production SupervisorPurpose of Position:
Operates automatic packing machines to ensure continuous production by the line.Duties:
- Starts machine and carefully observes the initial operation
- Satisfactorily increases machine speed to full cycle and maintains line speed
- Mans machine control panel, stops and restarts machine as required
- Attempts to diagnose cause of a machine malfunction and removes the cause of a jam or summons a mechanic when necessary
- If line is down, may be required to do rework or to clean up area around packing line and work area
- Keeps work area neat and clean
- Upon instruction for Production Supervisor, closes down all equipment not required on the next shift
- Reports any safety concerns for immediate corrective action
- Other duties as assigned
