  • Title: Packaging Mechanic

    Essential Functions of this position:

    • Repair packaging Equipment as needed
    • Perform regular and preventative maintenance of packaging equipment to eliminate unscheduled down time
    • Performs changeovers in an efficient and timely manner
    • Perform all work in accordance with GMP’s, housekeeping, good safety practices, and environmental regulations.
    • Participate in team processes and maintain good costumer, supplier, and employee relationships
    • Initiate purchase of required tools, parts, and maintain accountability for tools/parts issued
    • Upgrade skills and knowledge as equipment and technology develops
    • Perform all work to reflect a personal commitment to quality craftmanship and job ownership.
    • Notify supervisor of mechanical breakdowns that will take twenty (20) minutes of more to repair
    • Become familiar with PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controls) and ladder logic
    • Report health/safety hazards to immediate supervisor or EHS Department and make appropriate repairs.
    • Diagnose, rebuilds, modifies, and repairs packaging equipment
    • Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Must have High School Diploma or higher.
    • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
    • Proven mechanical aptitude as determined by observation and a mechanical ability test.
    • Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools.
    • High mental and visual effort.
    • Background in mechanical repairs.
    • Knowledge of electricity, preferably from formal training.
    • Willingness to do all tasks encountered in maintaining a facility and its equipment, i.e., cleaning equipment and maintenance areas, assisting assigned individuals(s) in maintaining DMI inventory of parts and supplies.
    • Flexibility. Must be willing to be reassigned to a new task prior to completing the present task at a moment’s notice.
    • Ability to complete assigned tasks on a timely basis.
    • Occasional overtime and Saturdays.
    • Spanish is a plus

  • Title: Senior Chemist

    Purpose of Position:

                    Responsible for the full documentation of all lab work, including final preparation of regulatory such as ingredients lists, BSE certificates, Bulk Product MSDs, Allergen Disclosures, R&D master formulations, procedures, and specifications.

    Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for the maintenance of all R&D- QA forms and records
    • Interact with all DMI departments, customers and suppliers as needed to perform
    • Handle the direct supervision of all R&D administrative personnel
    • Write and format R&D Administrative SOPs and R&D Laboratory SOPs as required
    • Maintain SOP Book
    • Schedule SOP Training and maintain records
    • Write ingredient declarations (this involves researching every ingredient in each formula, breaking them down to their basic raw materials, confirming the legal name for each ingredient to be used for labeling purposes, breaking down the base, recalculating total quantity of all basic ingredients and, if the customer requests quantitative, QS to 100%. Maintain electronic and hard copy records. This requires much contact with customers, vendors, and lab.
    • Write and maintain MSDSs for DMI created products based on specifications received from the lab upon customer’s request
    • Screen for regulatory issues involving ingredients or ingredient declarations and see that R&D follows through with the appropriate action.
    • Research and provide regulatory documentation on request and maintain records of documentation. This requires substantial contact with customers and vendors.
    • Enter and maintain Master Formulary, which includes formatting laboratory procedures, logging tentative specifications, obtaining the appropriate signatures and maintain electronic and hard copy files.
    • Maintain, distribute, and keep records of share standards.
    • Facilitate, track, record and maintain R&D project flow from conception to approval. This includes processing PDRs, distribution, and filling of PDRs, maintain the R&D project status report.
    • Maintain all records of all formula numbers with separate sheets for approvals.
    • Follow through on approvals to update records, obtain, store and record shade standards to fill weight standards, create ingredient lists and MSDSs, enter Master Formula, Laboratory procedures and tentative specifications, provide appropriate documentation for customers and other departments within DMI. Follow up on requests for more samples or any further requests from customer.
    • Provide data for job folder checklist
    • Source, requisition and maintain records or packing components, lab supplies, equipment, and raw materials.
    • Submit and track samples to customers.
    • Other duties as assigned due to business needs.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in developing personal care formulations and MUST have skin care development experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
    • Detail oriented, highly organized, and excellent communication skills are necessary.
  • Position:     Account Executive

    Reports to:   General Manager/CEO

    Description:

    The Account Executive acts as the administrator, facilitator, and coordinator of a sales projects, this position will also work closely with all the customer’s functional departments to ensure securing new business and successful job execution.  The Account Executive will identify and pursue new business opportunities for DMI.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and direct the development of a project from inception to completion
    • Develop and deliver price estimates, progress reports and business proposals.
    • Develop and implement project timelines and identify the critical path of the project.
    • Produce communication documents as needed.  Develop and maintain project documentation including action items, agenda, minutes, and project plans.
    • Define goals, deliverables, and scope of project
    • Work with the DMI and customer development teams to clarify details so there is mutual agreement at the beginning of each project.
    • Request project status reports from both DMI and customer team members
    • Identify project risks with the team and take steps to mitigate them
    • Build and grow any relationships necessary for the success of the project and solicit new business
    • At the end of each project, identify the elements of the project that were successful and those that were not.
    • Responsible for working with R&D/Product Development to introduce new products to existing and prospective customers

  • Title:                 Director of Operations                                                                

    Supervisor:     CEO, General Manager

    Purpose of Position:

    Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Operations function of the Company, Responsible for the performance of all Department functions (Manufacturing, Production, Material Management, Order Services, Engineering and Maintenance)

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, customer service, and order entry efficiency, along with human utilization
    •  Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans
    • Presents monthly reports on performance as requested by president
    • Develop and present to the President matter requiring decision
    • Develop and recommend corporate operations policy within the Operations Department
    • Define and recommend objectives in each area of Operations. Develops specific short-term plans and programs, together with budget requests and financial estimates

  • Title: Maintenance Mechanic
    Department: Mechanics
    Status: Full Time, All Shifts
    Supervisor: Plant Engineer or designated Mechanic

    Purpose of Position:
    Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to the facility and the production equipment. Prepares equipment and machinery for specific functions. Assists in the installation of new equipment. Diagnoses electrical and mechanical problems.

    Essential Functions:

    • Perform machine changeovers when other mechanics are not available.
    • Main tooling storage area in an orderly fashion.
    • Inspect tooling when removing it during a changeover and report any problems detected.
    • Trouble shoots production equipment and makes repairs and adjustments as required.
    • Assist in line setups.
    • Work in a safe manner.
    • Maintain work site in a sate condition.
    • Report safety problems for immediate attention.
    • Observe constantly plant equipment and reports any unusual/abnormal operation to Plant Engineer.
    • Share mechanical knowledge with other DMI employees.
    • New project work.
    • Supervise mechanics in the absence of the Plant Engineer to assure effective use of time and resources.

  • Title: Machine Operator
    Department: Production
    Status: Full Time, All Shifts
    Supervisor: Production Supervisor

    Purpose of Position:
    Operates automatic packing machines to ensure continuous production by the line.

    Duties:

    • Starts machine and carefully observes the initial operation
    • Satisfactorily increases machine speed to full cycle and maintains line speed
    • Mans machine control panel, stops and restarts machine as required
    • Attempts to diagnose cause of a machine malfunction and removes the cause of a jam or summons a mechanic when necessary
    • If line is down, may be required to do rework or to clean up area around packing line and work area
    • Keeps work area neat and clean
    • Upon instruction for Production Supervisor, closes down all equipment not required on the next shift
    • Reports any safety concerns for immediate corrective action
    • Other duties as assigned

  • Title:    Compounder

    Purpose of Position:

    Oversee pre-weigh function and preparation of compounding documentation. Also, pre-weighs and compounds all ingredients for the batch of cosmetics and over the counter drug products.

     Essential Functions:

    • Prepares batch sheet listing all raw materials and calculates extensions
    • Pre-weigh batches using appropriate scales and dispensing tools
    • Maintains the batch control log and rank cleaning log and ensures that it is current
    • Assures that all re-weigh procedures are followed, and pre-weigh work sheets are completed correctly
    • Take samples of batch for Quality Control analysis as required by the procedure
    • Appropriately drain completed batch into proper storage containers
    • Completes all other duties as assigned by manager
    • Prepares batch sheet listing all raw materials and calculates extensions

  • Title: Quality Control Inspector
    Department: Quality Assurance
    Status: Full Time
    Supervisor: Quality Inspection Manager

    Purpose of Position:
    Ensures adherence to company and customer standards and specifications for acceptance of incoming components and finished materials. Assures that proper documentation is maintained and that the finished materials are in full compliance.

    Essential Functions:

    • Performs routine quality audits of finished materials
    • Performs line clearance procedures to assure package integrity
    • Prepares quality control documents
    • Selects samples of finished materials for presentation to the customer using the customer prescribed sampling plan
    • Assures that all labels and identity stamps are correct and positioned as required
    • Assists Production Department personnel to understand customer’s quality requirements
    • Maintains all inspection equipment in good working order, calibrating equipment to the required standard
    • Identified the finished materials as “Accepted” or “Held” according to customer’s quality requirements
    • Places non-confirming on hold for review by department heads to determine disposition
    • Maintains the Quality Assurance Department in a clean and orderly manner
    • Reports any safety concerns to for immediate corrective action

  • Title: Quality Assurance Raw Material Sampler

    Department: Quality Assurance

    Status: Full Time

    Supervisor: Co-Director of Quality Assurance

    Purpose of Position: Responsible for taking the require amount of samples from every lot receipt of raw material and bulk product, to fill out sampling submission forms for the samples, obtain CofA’s for the material been sampled, submit the samples to the QC lab for testing and final disposition, to apply the QA release labels to every container and to make sure released materials are physically moved to the correct location,  to perform cleaning in the room, to maintain all logs up to date (cleaning, sampling, calibration, etc.) and to maintain inventory of all raw material retains.

    Essential Functions:

    • Sample all raw materials and bulk product.
    • Obtain certificate of analysis for every lot receipt.
    • Notify internally to appropriate departments and his management of any problems with the material on hand.
    • Label every container of raw material and bulk product with final disposition label status from QC lab (Green for release, yellow for hold and red for rejection)
    • To make sure released material is physically moved to proper location by a driver.
    • Document all activities on appropriate forms and maintaining all log books up to date.
    • Responsible to perform proper cleaning in the sampling room and to document it.
    • Any additional tasks as assigned by management.

    Education & Qualifications Requirements:

    • Knowledge of cGMP’s

  • Title: Production Supervisor
    Department: Production
    Status: Full Time, 1st & 2nd Shifts
    Supervisor: Plant Manager

    Purpose of Position:
    Directs activities of filling, blistering, stretch packing and assembly lines in an efficient manner in order to achieve desired quality and quantity levels.

    Essential Functions:

    • Supervises activities of assigned subordinates
    • Directs subordinates with respect to production volume, cost and quality meeting production schedules and delivery dates
    • Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production personnel
    • Confers with Production r in establishing work schedules for all production departments
    • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and GMP requirements
    • Schedules overtime as required
    • Arranges preparation and maintenance of appropriate production records
    • Maintains good employee relations. Taking proper and judicious disciplinary measures as required. Assists in handling first step grievances.
    • Establishes performance goals and accountabilities, and obtains concurrence of line personnel
